HERSHEY--Amanda Sawlsville’s 17-foot jump shot with 4.9 seconds left to play gave Wilson a 41-40 victory over Central Dauphin in a PIAA District 3 girls AAAA semifinal Monday night at Giant Center.

The top-seeded Lady Bulldogs secured a spot in the PIAA District 3 girls AAAA championship game Friday night at Giant Center in Hershey.

Wilson, the Berks County Conference champion, trailed the Lady Rams 35-25 in the fourth quarter when they rallied. Clinging to a 40-38 lead, Central Dauphin committed a turnover that set the stage for a series of big plays by Sawlsville

On Wilson’s possession Sawlsville was fouled with 1:52 left in the game. She made her first free throw then missed her second but she grabbed the offensive rebound. The Bulldogs stalled for the final shot.

Wilson (25-3) will face the winner of the Central Dauphin East vs. Cedar Crest semifinal Tuesday night at Giant Center. CD (22-7) will face the loser of that game in a third-place game.

Sawlsville led Wilson with 11 points. Vanessa Rivera and Sam Simcox each scored 10 points. Alyssa Thomas led CD with 12 points and Sarah Dowhower had 10.
